We are very much in sacking season in the Premier League, after 13 games in clubs are realizing that they need to make changes to their management in order to improve and there are quite a few managers who will be looking over their shoulder at the moment. Bharat Bhise and I are somewhat obsessed with the Premier League and when we work together it is generally all we can talk about. Bharat is so smart when it comes to footballing predictions and I have to agree with him in terms of who the candidates are to be next out of the door, take a look and see if you agree.
Marco Silva
There is no surprise that Marco Silva is under massive pressure at Everton, who sit in lowly 16th position, having won just 4 games this season, and lost 7. Everton are continuing with the terrible form of late last season and that is why faith in the Portuguese manager is slowly but surely disappearing. Silva is something of a myth really, he has a terrible win rate of just 39% during his career and it looks as though he has been well and truly found out. With David Moyes waiting in the wings for a return, Silva’s time could well be up very soon.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Quiet how Ole got the job at Manchester United is still something which we are scratching our heads about, and we are even more confused that the club gave him money to spend in the summer, and lots of it. Solskjaer may very well be a Manchester United legend but that does not a great manager make. Man United are struggling in the league, they haven’t set the world alight in the Europa League and their performances this season are a big cause for concern. We’d be very surprised if Ole made it to the end of the season, especially now that Mauricio Pochettino is up for grabs.
Unai Emery
The phrase ‘be careful what you wish for’ is something that Arsenal fans will know all about after raising hell to get Arsene Wenger out of the door. His replacement Unai Emery had a tough job on his hands and he was given a pass in his first season at the club, as he sought to reinvent the wheel. Emery however looks completely out of his depth at Arsenal and their performances have shown just that. Arsenal currently sit in 8th position and their performances of late have been awful, with no win in their last 6 games and draws against sides they should be beating with ease. The biggest concern is the attitudes of the Arsenal players, who genuinely look as though they would rather be anywhere else than playing for the Spaniard. The Arsenal fans are once again voicing their dismay at the situation and it will only be a matter of time before Emery is shown the door.
Who do you think will be the first manager out?
