What You Need to Know About Bagging Machines

Business

1 Oct

Did you know that bagging machines can boost the sustainability of your business? This is possible through lowering labor and reducing material costs. However, how can you be certain vertical bagging is the best alternative for the products? How can you choose the best bagging machine for your business?

What are the Items that Benefit from Vertical Bagging?

Snack foods, coffee, cereal candy, and rice are numerous items packaged with vertical bagging machines. If you package your items in premade bags, you need to upgrade your packaging operations with a bagging machine. This will offer you the lower material cost per bag and reduced costs on your packaging line. Furthermore, you can package faster than when using semi automatic or manual procedures. This will save you time and offer you an opportunity for future production expansion.

Note that vertical bagging is not designed for food products only. Many medical items like asthma inhalers and pipet tips are packaged in these baggers as a low-cost, sterile replacement for cartooning. Granular items, powder, liquids, and small particles that can be dosed by count or weight are all ideal for being packaged on vertical baggers.

How Vertical Machine Works

Suppose you are launching new products or changing your packaging mechanism, it’s important to know how the package is made and filled on the vertical baggers. The packaging begins as a flat film on the roll. The inner layer of the film seals to itself when pressure and heat are deployed. Then, the outer layer is preprinted with the logo, graphics, and package content, such as nutritional details. If you don’t have a film provider, your bagging machine supplier will link you with a trusted company.

The vertical bagging machine unwinds the film from a roll and passes it via the carriage. Then, optional machines like printers or label applicators can apply details that are unique to every package. This film is pulled down around the collar, wrapping it around the outside of the forming tube. The heat seal tooling on the front side of the tube seals the vertical edge of the film. At the bottom of the tube, the horizontal heat sealing jaws makes a cross seal across the bag.

On top of the bagging machine, a weigher, liquid pump, drill, and other dispensing gadgets dose the proper quantity of the item. The dosing gadget can be filled by overhead equipment or by an optional elevating system from floor level. Once the bagger is ready to fill the bag, a control detector automatically calls for the required quantity of the item to be dosed down the forming tube.

Once the item has been allotted, the equipment advances the film down the forming tube until the proper bag length is attained. Then, the horizontal jaws close again, creating the top of the filled bag and also the bottom of the next bag to be filled. A knife in the middle of the jaws cuts off the completed bag that drops down a discharge chute for additional handling. Note that secondary packaging or optional conveying can be automated.
