5 Tips to Give Your Body a Full Service

Healthy

19 Aug

Just like our cars, sometimes our bodies need a bit of TLC, to keep them looking a feeling good and running at their best. These 5 tips to giving your body a ‘full service’ will leave you feeling radiant and fresh, as if you’ve just rolled off of the forecourt.

Hair and nails

If you are feeling a little run down, then heading to the salon can give your hair, your self-esteem and your happiness a well-deserved boost. Try a new colour, experiment with new styles, or get it put up for a special event. You could try:

  • Having Balayage or Ombre
  • Getting a perm
  • Changing length
  • Changing style
  • Having highlights
  • Getting an under-shadow
  • Changing the colour (be as brave as you dare here!)
  • A simple wash and set

Team this with a fresh lick of polish on your nails and you’ll feel a million dollars.

Teeth

Your smile is one of the first things people notice, and having good oral hygiene is not only beneficial to those we are in close proximity to, but also important for your health. The mouth is riddled in bacteria and poor dental care can lead to decay, gingivitis, fillings, ulcers and bad breath to name a few. Maintaining your regular dental check-ups and visiting your hygienist is the best way to maintain good oral health, but if you want to give your smile an extra shine then you can also seek out other services. Acacia Dental Group in Woden Valley, for example, offer teeth whitening, veneers and other cosmetic procedures in addition to more traditional dental services.

Skin

Your skin is the largest organ of the body, and looking after it can help you to keep it youthful, fresh and radiant. Feel invigorated by exfoliating and moisturizing your body after a long, relaxing soak in the bath.

If you want a healthy glow then there is an array of self-tanning products available, or you can head to a tanning salon and get the pros to do it for you.

Hands and feet, in particular, take a lot of abuse over the course of a day. A pumice stone can help soften and remove dry or cracked skin and unearth the fresh supple layers below, leaving your palms and soles soft and smooth and summer-ready.

Natural beauty is obviously best, but if you are a fan of make-up, then why not give yourself a makeover? Grab yourself some new products and experiment with a new style, or treat yourself to your favorites and just rock your current look.

Muscles and joints

Our bodies go through a lot in life, and sometimes we are left with aches, pains and strains. As a part of your service, why not grab a massage or head to the spa for some relaxation and respite? Enjoy some quality you time or make an event of it by taking along your friends or partner to share the experience with. Types of treatments available include:

  • Rieke massage
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Head, back, neck or shoulder massage
  • Full body massage
  • Sports massage
  • Hot stone treatment
  • Clay wraps
  • Facials

Diet

Our bodies need love on both the outside and the inside. Taking care of your nutrition and how you fuel your body will help you to feel more energized, possibly lose weight, feel less bloated or sluggish and can also influence how we feel on the outside. Zinc, for example, found in foods such as meats, legumes, and nuts, is scientifically proven to improve hair and nail growth and staying well hydrated is great for the skin.

Eat a healthy balanced diet, reduce saturated fats, added sugars and processed foods and exercise portion control. Any changes to your diet should be ran past your doctor or dietician and fad diets or crash dieting can be hazardous to your health.

Ready to roll

Once you have tackled these quick tips, you’re sure to be feeling radiant.
