Marijuana or cannabis is always associated with smoking since it’s the most popular method to consume it. However, there are other ways to use cannabis, and one may be better than the other, depending on your needs and preferences. The medical and recreational use of marijuana is still in talks in various countries and states. However, there was an increase in the number of places that legalized the use of marijuana in recent years, compared to the situation several years back.
In the US alone, 20 states allow the use of recreational marijuana, while 37 approve the medical use. Besides the high or feel-good effect it brings, it’s also believed to aid in different health issues, such as anxiety, vomiting, nausea, pain, and inflammation. Below are ways of using cannabis.
Smoke
As mentioned, it’s the most popular way of using marijuana. Different products are used for smoking, such as bongs, pipes, tobacco or herbal blunts, and rolling papers. Pipes are made with metal, glass, or wood. You put the weed in the bowl, burn it, and inhale the smoke through the mouthpiece. Bongs are bigger and produce more smoke, making them popular for group sessions.
As the term suggests, rolling papers are papers made from various materials like rice, cellulose, and hemp, which you roll to form something like a cigarette. Blunts are made from leaves like tobacco. However, if you prefer blunts that do not taste tobacco or are nicotine-free, you may use tobacco free blunt wraps. Blunt cones are also available if you want to use them right away without rolling.
Vape
Heat the marijuana using a vaporizer. Once vaporized, inhale the vapor it produced. Some users prefer this method because it doesn’t make a pungent smell. Plus, others say that the feeling of high is better with vaping.
Topical creams and oils
There are also oils and creams made with marijuana extracts. They are used to relieve inflammation, soreness, and pain in muscles and various body parts. Apply the cream and oil to the affected region to experience relief. Unlike other methods of using cannabis, it doesn’t produce a high, which is why it’s generally used for medical purposes rather than recreational.
Drops
Liquid form cannabis is used as drops that you can add to your drinks or other recipes. Since it doesn’t produce any smoke or vape, and there is no equipment needed that will associate with the use of marijuana, it’s a discreet way of using it. You may also add a drop at the back of your tongue and allow it to be absorbed.
Ingestion
There are also several cannabis edibles that you can buy, or you may prepare your foods infused with marijuana. Almost all foods now have their marijuana edible counterparts. The most popular are gummies, cupcakes, brownies, and lollipops.
Spray
It’s one of the newest methods of using marijuana. Instead of drops, you could spray it under your tongue. They also come in different flavors, so you could choose one that suits your taste.
If using marijuana for medical purposes, be sure to consult with your physician and follow the correct dosage. If it’s for recreational use, check if it’s legal in your state to avoid problems with the law.
