Parents try to keep their children safe at all costs. This is their real priority. Therefore, we care for our children in many respects and try to protect them from all dangers. Also, those that can perform in our homes.
Home space is full of dangerous subjects that can harm our children. That’s a matter of fact and many people are aware of it. Sharp ends of cupboards, heavy objects – all this poses a huge threat to our youngest children. But what about threats that aren’t visible at first glance, but are also very dangerous? Such as chemicals present in our household cleaners?
What is the closest to our children? Toys of course. Sometimes we have to wash them. It’s obvious and necessary. Over time, they become full of dust and pollution which can have a real impact on a child’s health. But how to safely clean baby toys?
How to clean plush toys? That question seems to be very simple. We usually put them into washing machines, and it’s ready. But there are some cases that should be considered before making laundry.
Our children often fall asleep cuddled up in their plush toys. As a result, their skin has direct contact with the toy. Components present in some washing detergents can be full of harsh chemicals which can cause allergic reactions. Baby’s skin is much more sensitive than ours. Therefore, it’s worth considering choosing gentle washing detergents which are hypoallergenic and can minimize the risk of rash and skin irritation.
It’s also worth remembering that plush toys are delicate. Therefore, we should wash them by hand or put them in a special bag when washing in the washing machine. Thanks to this, our children will be able to enjoy them for longer.
Some toys aren’t washable, but you should refresh them a little from time to time to get rid of bacteria and dirt. How to clean kids toys made of plastic or rubber?
These types of toys are usually wiped with cleaning agents or alcohol. However, it’s worth considering whether it would be a good solution to choose natural cleaning agents. Why? Because children love to take these types of toys in their mouths. And with the use of traditional cleaning agents, it’s really easy to irritate their digestive tract. What can we find in conventional cleaners? For example, some popular disinfection agents could have mercury chloride. Its ingestion causes serious problems with the digestive system such as diarrhea and stomach ache.
By using natural all-purpose cleaner, which contains only plant-derived ingredients and e.g. microfiber cloths you can be sure that no harm will happen to your baby. The fact that eco-friendly house cleaners are also child-friendly has been thoroughly tested and verified. Therefore, when choosing a house cleaning kit, it’s always worth checking whether the label highlights that the product is kid-safe.
So how to clean used baby toys? Preferably using natural cleansers that minimize the risk of our baby being hurt. It’s really important to drastically limit our children’s exposure to toxic chemicals. Invisible threats can do a lot more damage than we usually think.
One more question left. We already know how to clean baby toys safely, but how often should we do it? It has been assumed that toys that our children use with high frequency (the most beloved ones) should be refreshed at least once a week. When it comes to toys that often land on the ground or in children’s mouths – they should be cleaned once every 2 days. Thanks to this, our child will be able to safely play with beloved toys without the risk of infection or other unpleasant health disorders.
