If you use a dishwasher to clean your dishes, there may have been times in the past where you get the dishes out after running them through the machine and they simply aren’t as clean as you’d like them to be. There could be all kinds of reasons for this. But to help ensure that this doesn’t happen again, here are three ways to get your dishwasher to better clean your dishes.
Regularly Clean Your Dishwasher
If your dishwasher isn’t clean, you can’t rightfully expect it to be able to effectively clean your dishes. So if it’s been awhile since you’ve gone about cleaning your dishwasher, this is something that you’re going to want to do now and on a regular basis into the future.
To do this, you’ll want to clean out the dishwasher trap. This filter catches debris from your dishwasher. But when it gets full and doesn’t get cleaned, it can make it so your dishwasher isn’t able to work as well as it could. Along with this, you’ll also want to run your dishwasher without any dishes in it but with a cup of vinegar tossed in the bottom of the machine. As the machine runs, the vinegar will help to clean everything and leave it smelling much better. Now, when you wash your dishes, you’ll know that your dishwasher is actually working to clean them because it’s clean, too.
Use A Higher-Quality Detergent
Sometimes, the reason why your dishwasher might not be cleaning your dishes as well as it could is because you’re using a low-quality dishwasher detergent.
To rectify this, you’ll want to start using a higher-quality dishwasher detergent. This could be a dishwasher detergent sheet or another kind of detergent. But in addition to using the detergent, you should also use a rinsing agent to help all of your dishes to be clean and sparkly when the cycle is done.
Learn How The Arm Spray Works
If you don’t have your dishwasher loaded correctly, the spray arm can have a hard time reaching your dishes and getting them clean. Because of this, you’ll want to learn how your dishwasher works and where the spray arm is going to reach so that you can strategically load your dishwasher accordingly.
Ideally, you’ll want to point the dirtiest part of the dishes toward the spray arm so that they can get the direct pressure of the water. The corners of the top shelf of the dishwasher usually are the hardest for the spray arm to reach, so you won’t want to put particularly dirty dishes in these areas.
If you want your dishes to come out of your dishwasher looking and feeling more clean, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you see how this can be achieved.
