Things to Buy When you are About to Start your New Life in a PG in Delhi

Lifestyle

16 Feb

Life can be unpredictable. We could be spending all our life in one city during our growing-up years, surrounded by family and friends, and one fine day, we leave our homes to start a new journey in a new city, say Delhi. New people replace familiar faces, a cozy home gives way to a PG in Delhi and new challenges and new experiences invite us. We know you must be so excited to set up your new space, so we are sharing a few nifty tips that can help make it more enjoyable than exhausting.

Well, for one, we would always advise you to choose a professionally managed accommodation option like Stanza Living over any other rental option (local PG, hostel, or even a flat). Managed accommodation are fully-furnished spaces that provide beds, storage areas, wardrobes, desks, common appliances, etc so, you don’t need to spend extra money, time, or energy on trying to get all the important furniture and amenities together. This pretty much means you can just move in with your luggage and all the daily living necessities are covered. Next, they also have a dedicated service team so food, housekeeping, laundry, internet facility, building maintenance, etc, everything is covered. Choosing a place like this ensures that you have the time and leisure to focus on living your life – meeting new people, fulfilling your personal and professional commitments.

But if you living in a PG accommodation or Hostel in Delhi and want to personalize your place, here are a few things which would be good to have:

Furniture and Appliances

If you are setting up a new room and have a bare-bones place to start with, you know you’ll have to invest in some basic furniture – beds, a handy table, and chairs or even ottomans just so you have your bases covered for a place to sleep and sit. Good storage options – like wardrobes/ drawer sets etc are also important so you don’t end up living out of suitcases or having to turn a chair into a clothes rack. Similarly, you would need some basic appliances to manage your daily living needs – a water purifier, oven, washing machine, heater, cooking utensils etc are much needed, so that stuff like cooking and cleaning is not a hassle. That’s why, if you are moving to a new city, staying in a managed accommodation like Stanza Living is a much better and convenient option as they not only provide fully-furnished places, they also cover everything from meals to housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, wifi, common appliances etc so you don’t have to spend time, energy or money setting-up and managing everything.

Personal Hygiene Products

This is a no-brainer! Just like you would at home, having your beauty and personal care products, from the basic daily use things like a brush, toothpaste, creams, shampoos, antiperspirants etc to your hair and skincare gadgets and appliances, is a must. Maybe at home, your parents made sure you never ran out of supply, but now that you are living on your own, you are in charge. It is not only convenient to have your own things, but it also saves you from having to share or depend on someone else.

Linens and Furnishings

Sheets, pillowcases, and duvet spread are your key to a great rest! Without comfortable bed sheets, you probably won’t feel good. Similarly, having your own bath essentials, towels, drapes is a must for your own cleanliness and hygiene. These also come in handy when you are having an impromptu sleepover as your guests will appreciate spare, clean bedsheets and towels. Avoid sharing these with anyone (hygiene is super important!) and make sure you regularly wash them and have enough spare ones in stock. Similarly, picking-up your own furnishings like cushions and curtains can help you do up a place the way you want – creating a warm, welcoming vibe without spending too much. If you are in a managed accommodation, they can also help you with weekly laundry load management, so you don’t have to worry about cleaning up piles of linen and furnishings.

Gadgets for Entertainment and Pursuing Hobbies

Most of us have our own much-loved gadgets and things that help us unwind. So, do pack entertainment options like your XBOX, Bluetooth, smartwatch, cameras, and so forth that you might need as you aren’t likely to find an alternative in your PG in Delhi. If you have any special interests like photography, gardening, pottery, drawing, and more, it would be a good idea to buy things that will help you pursue them in your leisure time and unwind in your own space.

We would suggest that when you move, it’s a good idea to chalk up a list of essentials that you can’t do without and add-ons that you can purchase over time. Check thoroughly with your landlord about the amenities that are included so you don’t end up buying duplicate things. This will not only help you save money but also not create clutter in your living space. If you are planning to migrate to a PG in Delhi, then you can check out the residences by managed accommodation providers like Stanza Living. Their houses are very well equipped with all the basic amenities and run by a team of professionals.
