Traveling

31 Jul

If you’re in the midst of planning an exciting overseas trip to London, you may find yourself overpowered with choice. With so many amazing restaurants, hotels and boroughs, how on earth are you supposed to cram the ultimate experience into just one short visit? Well, we hate to break it to you, but you can’t…

Instead, meticulous planning is necessary to ensure you don’t miss any crucial experiences. You probably don’t want to hear this right now, but each and every London borough has something to offer even the fussiest of people.

Unsure where to start? Don’t worry, we’ve made it easier for you. Here, we’re exploring 5 London boroughs that every overseas visitor should check out.

Greenwich

Greenwich is a borough in London, on the banks of the River Thames. Most commonly known for its maritime history, this area of the capital flaunts exciting history, an abundance of cultural sights and an exciting choice of things to see and do.

As home to the famous Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich promises to deliver an insightful weekend that you won’t forget.

City of Westminster

If your bucket list is teeming with London’s most notable tourist attractions, a visit to the City of Westminster is a fantastic place to start. It’s home to Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park – to name just a few – so you will be rushed off your feet the moment you step into this government district.

Where do you even start? Well, TripAdvisor houses plenty of reviews on Westminster’s top ten landmarks.

Hammersmith and Fulham

This borough demands your next visit. If history excites you, you might appreciate knowing that the former home of the Bishops of London, Fulham Palace, is only a 15-minute walk from Putney Bridge Station.

What’s more, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham offers some dazzling places to stay! Dorsett Hotel, Shepherd’s Bush, for example, has stylish and comfortable accommodation for all.

Tower Hamlets

If you have yet to grace the London Borough of Tower Hamlets with your presence, you might want to think about changing that – and soon! With a wealth of history and culture at your fingertips, you’ll certainly not run out of places to explore.

This borough offers something for everyone, from the Tower of London which is bursting with rich history, to the trendy Brick Lane hotspot most notable for selling vintage goods and street art.

A fun fact for you: this borough is dominated by the White Tower, which houses many old Crown jewels, armour and famous ravens.

Camden

Camden Town has built an enviable reputation over the years, and for good reason. This borough is perfect for browsing vintage treasures before tucking into delicious street food at the acclaimed Camden Market; alternatively, sit back and relax while taking a cute boat trip along Regent’s Canal to Little Venice.

Have we made the process of choosing a London borough to visit any easier? Actually, no, probably not! But at least you have your next 5 visits to London planned and ready to go. You’re welcome.
