Becoming a doctor is purposely long and difficult and the majority of those who start on this road never make it. For those like Arden Andersen who do complete the journey, they gain a career that is highly respected and well paid.
Part of the reason so many fail, is the rigorous class and lab work required. Students must learn to put everything else aside so that can focus solely on their classes. Oncologist
Throughout the country cancer is a major medical issue. There are so many types of cancer that treating one successfully only makes a dent in the amount of cases. With a steadily aging population, the number of patients will continue to grow and so will the need for oncologists, who focus on the treatment and prevention of cancer in terminal and at-risk patients. Their practices extend from examination and diagnosis of cancerous illnesses, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and care devoted to those who survive the illness.
Dermatologist
With the focus on beauty and retaining youth, it is no surprise that doctors of dermatology are some of the most highly sought. Although many work in beauty clinics, their practices go beyond beauty to include the study of the skin and its layers and the understanding and diagnosing diseases relating to it. These include basal cell carcinoma and moles that may eventually cause skin cancer or other conditions.
Pediatrician
In terms of where doctors are needed most, it is always at each end of our lives. This is one of the reason that a pediatrician is always in high demand. Pediatricians treat with infants, toddlers and adolescents on just about any general issue relating to their health. Radiologist
Because of the large uptick in cancer and other diseases of the organs, radiologists are becoming highly sought. They use x-rays, CT-scans and other imaging tech to diagnose and detect physiological ailments. These sophisticated machines scan a person’s body for hazardous cells, such as cancer cells and give doctors a sense of what is going on internally.
There are many advances in this area of medicine today and soon these doctors will even be in surgeries allowing doctors to see what is going on while they operate.
